Puffy paint ingredients are not only so easy to whip up, you’ll probably find most in your home right now.
Common ingredients you use daily that can totally be used in a great way for a lot of fun!
How do you make Puffy paint?
1 cup of glue
1 cup of shaving cream
a little bit of water
food coloring
plastic squeeze bottles (optional)
ziplock bags
large mixing bowl
essential oil or a variety of additional glitter
Can you make puffy paint at home?
Puffy paint is a very easy and fun activity that can be made in minutes.
Using homemade items, you’ll have puffy paint made in minutes.
The supplies we use to make puffy paint are:
small bowls (this is for making different colors)
white glue
shaving cream
food colouring
We use Barbasol shaving cream (you can literally find this stuff at the dollar store).
For great results we ditch the small spoon and bring out the small plastic containers.
Plastic bottle and plastic bag items are great for holding a variety of colors and for using in puffy paint art.

What can you mix with paint to make it fluffy?
To create a fun texture that includes a bit of fluffiness to it, be sure to add an extra bit of shaving cream.
A simple puffy paint project is a great sensory activity to bring forth as a simple DIY for kids of all ages.
A great activity we love to bring forth is making puff paint, but then figuring out an easy way to bring about certain manipulatives to make it lots of fun.
Here are some manipulatives we like using with out different recipes:
different shades of Elmer’s glue
paper plates
popsicle stick
paint brushes
cotton swabs
faux ice cream cone
squirt bottle
large bowl
craft stick
old sheet
homemade finger paint
card stock
These are just some of the super fun project ideas we love to bring forth in any fun ideas we love bringing forth for both younger children and older kids.

How do you make acrylic paint into puffy paint?
The best part about creating easy crafts is that you can use simple items such as shaving cream to make puffy paint!
Create a fun painting that is textured and so much fun for kids.
With a little water or enough water, mix the paint and shaving cream together and you’ve got puffy paint.
To add a desired color make sure that the paint you use Is in the color you’d like your puffy paint to be.
Save in a squirt bottle for the next day or for next time and you are good to go!
We will sometimes place the puffy paint within a ziplock bag and cut a small hole on one end to create process art.
This is a very easy and fun way for the artful parent or teacher to bring about a fun set of activities that will work for kids of all ages (3+).
We may try adding a bit of all purpose flour or even tinker around with what works for us as far as seeing what concoctions work well and make things much more or less puffy.
It is really cool to see how it dries with this sort of flat surface look but still contains some puffy texture.
Overall, it is such a cool thing to become a visual learner and see what works best for you and your kids.
