Playdoh Recipe
I really enjoy making playdough for my girls.
Especially when glitter is involved. For a no glitter recipe, check out this post.
The holidays are such a wonderful time of year to roll out some freshly made play dough.
Here’s how I enveloped this all together:
Set a bowl on the table to add in all of your ingredients
Add in your dry ingredients (flour, salt, cream of tartar, glitter)
Then, add in your water, oil and essential oil (optional)
Mix and then knead your playdough together.
Voila! You’ve made a really fun play dough! Virtual high five! 🙂
Now the fun part – giving it to your kids to play with!
How to use Play dough for play
You can add in little toys your child loves playing with from their playroom.
My oldest loves incorporating treasures like sticks and leaves she finds from outside.
We have this kids rolling pin that works really well and both my girls absolutely love it!
Roll them up into little balls for counting and/or use them to make letters and turn them into a fun learning experience with our alphabet printable pack!
What other fun ways can you think of using playdough with your children?
Storage of Playdough
I love talking about this as I don’t see many places talking about this thoroughly.
We have overstored playdough before and it wasn’t a pretty sight!
Average storage time mentioned on other sites is 6 months.
I like to make ours 3 to 4 times a year as I don’t want to ever see a not so pretty sight again!
Plus, a freshly made batch of playdough is always so soft and fun!
