Easy Egg Carton Easter Crafts and Learning Games
I love a good easy activity with items you probably already have at home.
This kids activity is themed for Easter and it is so easy and so fun!
I added a bit of recycled play for one of our Easter activities this year and it was loads of fun.
Not only did we attempt one activity, but I also added in a second activity to it which was also great learning fun!
So, how did I put this easy Easter activity together?
I’ll be sharing below how I set this up, what I used and how my girls went about learning through play with this kids activity!

How do you decorate Easter Egg Cartons?
There are so many fun ideas and crafts you can attempt with an egg carton.
Some ideas for Easter egg carton crafts are:
Spring flowers egg carton
Mini spring eraser 10 frame game
Paint the egg carton
Paint each hole within the egg carton a different color
Egg carton stacking on a pipe cleaner to make a flower
These are some egg carton crafts that I just came up with off the top of my head. Can you think of any too?
Egg carton crafts can be themed for a certain season, or created into something fun or as an educational activity!
This year we used an egg carton for one of our Easter crafts with an educational twist!
What can you make out of egg cartons?
Literally, so many things!
These are the steps we took to create our educational multi-purpose activity:
I made sure to wash our recycled egg carton (If you are using a non plastic egg carton you can wipe it off with antibacterial soap and a paper towel. Egg cartons can carry bacteria so it is best to always disinfect it.
Once my egg carton was fully disinfected ready to go, I thought about how I could make it work for not just one game but for another educational game as well.
Place dot stickers with sharpie markered numbers or letters onto the inside of recycled egg carton slots.
Then, mark the eggs with the same numbers or letters so your little one can match the eggs to its correct slot in the egg carton.
An example with letters is to write uppercase letters on the egg carton and lowercase letters on the Easter eggs. Match the uppercase to the lowercase letters! 🙂
Another fun game that incorporates the basic skills of early learning is to add pom poms within the Easter eggs.
Then, add the same amoutn and color of pom poms to one side of the recycled egg carton.
This will allow for a fun learning game of symmetry with a bit of fine motor skills!
Open the Easter eggs and match the pom pom with in the correct order so that both sides of the egg carton are symmetrical! 🙂
Shout out the numbers/letters/colors as you play this learning game using an egg carton!
Easy, peasy and so much learning fun!
Can egg cartons be recycled?
Absolutely!
As mentioned up above, please be sure you are disinfecting your egg cartons to omit any bacteria that may be on them.
Then, you can create a fun egg carton craft or educational game like we did and explore a fun craft/learning activity for kids!
Enjoy friends!
