Now, not only will this be fun for your littles, but you can turn it into something fun and educational that can also work for a differentiated set of ages.
But, more on this later on in this post!
For now, here are the steps I took to put this simple Christmas activity for kids together:
Roll out a large paper roll on a table.
Then, cut it so that it takes over the table.
Draw a tree onto the large paper roll on the table.
Then, the fun part: you can theme this in any fun way you’d like.
We themed ours for just a fun pretend play decorate the “Christmas tree” setup.
But, you can theme this for easy fine motor play, add the Christmas tree ornaments to match an equation..
The possibilities are truly endless.
Once, you have drawn out a Christmas tree, lay out your pom poms or any fun manipulatives you had in mind and feel okay with bringing forth to make this Christmas kids activity complete!
Bring your littles and enjoy decorating the Christmas tree craft!
Christmas Tree Craft for Toddlers
Toddlers can enjoy moving around the pom poms or their toys on the Christmas tree.
They can even shout out the colors that they see as they decorate.
If they are practicing counting, count 1-5 as you add the pretend “ornaments”.
Enjoy playing and learning while gaining the benefits of fine motor play and hand eye coordination.
Supervision is required especially with 3 and under.
Christmas Tree Craft for Preschool
Preschoolers can enjoy all that toddlers learn and even more!
Instead of only practicing the numbers 1-5, preschoolers can practice the numbers 1-10 or 1-20.
It can also be fun learning new colors such as purple, green and orange!
So much learning fun while gaining the same benefits that toddlers gain!
Christmas Tree Craft for Kids
And, last but not least you can add circles on the drawn out tree and write equations within them.
Your Kindergartener can practice adding in the number of pom poms into the “ornament” as a fun learning through play kids activity!
Make patterns with different colored pom poms and practice skip counting by 2’s, 3’s and 4’s.
