This simple popsicle sticks crafts activity
These simple popsicle stick crafts were so easy to make, here are the steps I took to put these together:
Draw shapes on the popsicle stick in different colors.
Then, draw those same shapes onto clothespins.
The fun part: Practice fine motor skills with a fun matching game.
Use the clothespin to match to the correct shape on the popsicle stick.
So much fun and very easy right?
Not only did we use this simple setup for practicing colors, shapes and sorting.
We also used this activity for a couple of other fun popsicle stick DIY activities…

Craft with popsicle sticks
Kids crafts using popsicle sticks can be made in many different themes, in a variety of fun ways for a differentiated set of ages.
Because it is Fall around the time we make this, we made one to go along with the 5 Little Pumpkins song.
Add the clothespins to each of the pumpkins and count from 1-5!
How fun is that?
Tip: You can even match by shape and not by color by coloring either the shapes on the popsicle stick or the clothespins in a different color from the other!
This is a little more advanced and a wonderful approach you can try once your LO has mastered matching by color and shape together.
Here is the Five Little Pumpkins Book along with other fun Pumpkin books that go well with this Pumpkin kids craft activity:
Another fun craft sticks ideas activity we tried out was a fun name activity!
Yes, this will also work well with a fun learning the letters of your name activity.
Here are the steps I took to put this simple popsicle stick name activity together:

Then, write those same letters onto popsicle sticks.
