There is something about creating a fun and easy recycled box craft at home tailored to that specific time of year, right?
Because it’s winter time I decided to put together the classic craft snowman DIY cardboard box stacking idea but this time we used tissue boxes!
Now, some of these tissue boxes we haven’t used just yet and that’s okay if they aren’t ready to be recycled just yet.
It just means you get to have a really cool painted box for grabbing a tissue out of that your LO painted, yay!
But, before the tissue boxes go into our bathroom, we use them for crafty ideas such as this one.
These snowman boxes are a wonderful piece in our dining room table.
Like I said, you can create large snowman stacking boxes made out of recycled cardboard boxes (you know, the ones you saved up from Christmas shipments? :D)
But, if you are like me and don’t really save those as much as most do, you can try this little snowman craft activity with tissue boxes!
I’ll be sharing below how we put these simple ideas for snowman crafts using tissue boxes below.

How to make a Christmas Snowman
Easy peasy, I must say!
We chose to go the way of smaller boxes – tissue boxes.
Here’s what we used:
Tissue boxes (set of three)
Acrylic or Tempera Washable Paint or Washable Kids Paint
And, that my friends, is all you will need for how to make a snowman craft.
Easy peasy!
How do you make a snowman out of boxes?
Alright, so here is the easiest part, ever!
Here are the steps I took to put together this simple decorating a box to make a snowman idea:
I made sure to choose tissue boxes that were light in color that way when we painted them it would not be very hard for the white paint to show.
Then, paint each of the three boxes in the color white with white washable kids paint.
Let it dry. Note: It probably took a couple of hours to dry with a thin coat on each of the boxes.
Then, once the white paint is dry, use orange and black paint to create the snowman crafts nose, eyes and buttons..
Set it out to dry.
Once it is completely dry you can stack the snowman.
Talk about what comes first:
The bottom of the snowman
Then, the shirt or buttons of the snowman
Then, the head of the snowman
You can even go into depth about the number of buttons the snowman has (great for preschoolers)..
This is a fun way to decorate a cardboard box to create an epic homemade Christmas snowman!
