Shape learning games for toddlers
This is a wonderful way to teach toddler shape activities!
Shape learning games for toddlers can be created out of a simple recycled box or recycled shoe box as we did!
It’s so easy to create. This is how I put together this fun activity for learning shapes for toddlers and for kids:
Tape printer paper onto the top of your recycled shoe box lid.
Then, use a craft knife to create holes at the top of the box making sure to leave enough space to add your shape buttons to.
Then, add the shape buttons you plan for your little to match to under the slots you just made using your craft knife.
Tape them on with scotch tape and voila!
You’ve created an epic set of shape/color sorting activities!
I used a tray to display our shape buttons for these easy shape activities for 2 year olds. Then, my LO sorted by color at first not really recognizing the shapes.
But, then we switched it up and I asked if she could please add the correct shape (disregarding the colors.)
That may have been a bit of an advanced approach as now she’d have to discern between the shapes and colors which is actually really neat and gets your littles mind working! 🙂
Shape games for 2 year olds such as this one can be very neat and also work for a differentiated set of ages which is awesome!
This is a wonderful way to play and learn while teaching toddlers about shapes and colors!
