How epic is that!
This magic trick with paper towels experiment is fun and can be brought forth as art, as a learning experience, for a certain season…
I love multi-purpose activities that involve open ended play!
We tried this vibrant paper towel art in two different ways and I’ll be sharing them below!

How to Create this Epic Paper Towel Art
To create this colorful magic with paper towels, follow these steps:
I made sure to use two paper towel sheets that I did not separate.
On the inside of one of the pieces I colored something fun.
One of the scenes I colored were Easter eggs for early learning.
The Easter eggs were all of different colors.
Then I closed the sheet I didnt color on (almost like a book closing in on the colored image).
On the outside I could see the faint colors from the previous sheet I colored. With the sheet directly above it I drew out words over each of the colored eggs to describe the eggs color.
This will allow for the words to match the color of the egg once immersed in water.
So, now the fun part..
My little one grabbed the sheets with the words facing upward and the colorful images inside and dropped the paper towel into the pan with water.
Voila! Magic right before your little ones eyes!
So magical and great learning fun for kids!
Creative Art for Toddlers
Another fun take we took with this paper towel art activity was to create different colored fishes! Here are the steps we took:
Draw fishes of different colors on the inside of the paper towel sheet.
Close the second sheet almost like a book so that the fishes are inside.
Then, add ocean swirls on the outside. I added a little crab on the corner for giggles.
Immerse your paper towel into the water and watch the magic as the two unite.
Talk about the colors. Point and learn the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue…
Art activities for Preschoolers
Preschoolers can also have fun with this magical paper art experiment!
They can practice colors as well or even counting!
Let them draw something fun so they can see their art magically appear on the other side once immersed with water.
