Count the leaves as you add them.
Skip count by color (For example, add one red and one orange then over and over again.)

For Preschoolers, you can practice counting as you add the Fall leaves to the wreath.

You can also talk about how the leaves are brown, red and orange from being the color green.
Kindergarteners can also learn through equations.
Set out a deck of index cards with equations such as 2+2 and 3+3.
