Recycled shoe box
Craft knife (to cut the holes on the shoe box; adult use only)
2 sheets of regular printer paper
Foam sheets or recycled cardboard squares

Here are the steps I took to put together this simple shoe box craft from recycled materials:
Tape two sheets of paper around the bottom and lid of the shoe box.
Then, cut 6 or more slits on the top of the shoe box lid.
Create squares out of foam sheets or a cardboard cutout.
Then, add stickers to those squares.
And, voila! You’ve a simple setup for inserting the stickered squares into the shoe box lid.
That’s all there is to this easy activity.
Some ideas are counting as you add the squares into the shoe box.
Then, you can go about talking about the colors as you add in the squares as well.
Sorting activities are lots of fun and this sorting activity is lots of fun!
It is great for on the go, in a school setting or when you are right at home.
