Color Matching Activity for Kids
We love learning about colors!
I think rainbows and colorful projects are my girls favorite type of activity!
This one is really fun and involves a bit of early learning too which is neat.
You can tailor this kids activity in so many different ways.
I just made it so that my LO recognizes her color names as well.
I’ll be sharing below exactly how I set this simple matching colours activity up and all I used to make it come to life.

Color matching games for preschoolers
If you are looking for easy colour activities for preschoolers, then you are in the right place.
This activity only involved 3 “ingredients” and was so much fun!
You can tailor this for a differentiated set of ages.
Here are 3 ways you can go about this matching color activity:
Instead of color names, make colored circles. This way, your LO starts off matching the colors instead of the color names.
For a bit of a more advanced approach, write the color names in its color like I did. This will get your LO visually seeing the color names as they complete their matching activity.
For an even more advanced approach and when your LO is ready, color the color names in all black. Match the correct colored post it note to its correct color name.
These are 3 methods of learning about colors from least to a most advanced approach.
