Whereas, ABC practice for kindergarten can look more like actually learning letters sounds along with the letter names and practicing reading a vowel sound mixed in with a consonant for a fun set of activities for pre-reading skills.

How do you teach the alphabet to kindergarten?
But, a very important step is to learn the letter sounds. This will work in teaching littles to incorporate activities that involve pre-reading skills.
When do kids learn the alphabet?
I believe that it really depends on the child.
My oldest was very keen to learn and so she learned the alphabet very quickly (songs, books) at an earlier age than her sister did.
My youngest loves to play and run and explore and so sitting down to learn the alphabet (songs, reading books) wasn’t going to work for her.
Instead, I had to come up with fun ways to teach abcs to her.

Games to teach the alphabet can look something like bring the ducks back to the pond (pretend play).
How do I make the alphabet fun?
My printables would look like 26 ducks with different letters and my LO would bring them back to the pond sheet and say their letter sound.
This makes learning fun because it involved a bit of play into the mix
So, while your LO is having fun they are learning too!
How cool is that?!
